The idea of the “Soloists of Damascus” band was born as a small professional group with musical flexibility, aiming to be a musical ensemble capable of performing various musical styles, with and without singers. The primary goal is to highlight to the unfamiliar listener the beauty of blending traditional Arab instruments with Western instruments, also known as classical music.

The band consists of distinguished Syrian musicians, each specializing in their field, having collaborated with numerous local and international groups.

The band will also feature specialized singers for each musical style they present.

The current program of the band focuses on Syriac music that originated in Syria before the Common Era. This music has been passed down through generations orally due to the absence of schools and educational institutions dedicated to this musical style, posing a threat to this heritage that continues to be passed from one generation to another through monks.

The presentation of Syriac music is the band’s first project and will be an opportunity to introduce the audience to this ensemble and this priceless musical heritage. The band plans to hold regular concerts highlighting the music of Syrian mosaic components, which is considered an important intangible heritage for Syria and the region.
